October was great all across the board for mud racing, boggin’ and truck fans. We had Muddi Gras and Jeeptoberfest events, action-packed mud racing, the official debuts of several new mega trucks and all the mud madness you could stomach.

One weekend really stood out, and showcased all the off-road action Florida has to offer with a “Trucks Gone Wild" Weekend of tug-o-war truck pulls, rock-crawling Jeeps and mud trucks going nuts at events across the state.

The weekend started on Friday, Oct. 2 with a TGW-8 DVD release party at Jesse Black’s Saloon in Orlando. Jesse Black’s always throws a party, including some of the baddest back-to-back truck pulls this side of the Mississippi.

This tug-o-war field had an impressive roster of pulling machines with trucks and drivers waging war by pulling and yanking each other across the concrete slab for bragging rights and prizes.

Wiping the sleep from our eyes Saturday morning, we rode with Tampa Bay Area Jeep Association (TBAJA) to Horse Hole Creek in Inglis, Fla. to test their recent addition of a rock-crawling and technical driving area for Jeeps.

Horse Hole’s mud fans were drooling over the Jeeps for a while, but soon had their chance to strut their tough mud trucks in fire drill races.

The action wasn't even close to over, as Sunday had us at Bithlo Motorsports Park for TGW’s Battle of the Cliques (Team Truck Racing) and a School Bus Truck pull. This event had trucks racing, flying, and pulling as the TGW crew filmed for future DVD’s.

The Construction Development truck and Steamboat made a point of showing off their superior horsepower.

It also was the also the official debut of Ken Wing, Jr.'s “Game Over” Jeep build we spotlighted here several months ago. His speed and mud-slinging proved to be as impressive as advertised.

The weekend was intense and fed us a different flavor of off-road eye candy each day. A weekend like that really revs you up, and it is a blast to have all this action right here in Florida.

Stay tuned for more events, races, bogs and builds we will feature in the coming months, and we’ll see you gassing up for the next weekend of off-road adventures!.

Ken Wing, Jr. and Ken's Tuff Trux did their best to launch their frighteningly fast "Game Over" Jeep to the top of our mythical "Baddest Truck of the South" leaderboard this past month with very strong showings at Bithlo, Redneck Yacht Club and Muddi Gras.

Ken Jr. and Game Over sped to a first place time at Muddi Gras (3.43 seconds), followed by Steamboat (3.57) and Mike Kelly, Jr. (3.578).

However, Construction Development roared back and flexed its high-horsepower muscle at Bithlo's Bus Pull and put on a memorable mud-a-licious mud-slinging show at Muddi Gras (see below and previous page), while the new Steamboat continued to tear up the track and post some amazing times.

We went to press before the big Puddin' Creek bog kicked off, but the event will surely have an impact on who is considered the biggest, baddest and best heading into November.

This month has several huge events that will give several different styles of mud trucks a chance to flex their muscle and speed, as Palm Beach International Raceway hosts side-by-side mud drags with a $20,000 pay-out over several different classes, and the Redneck Yacht Club will host a huge Trucks Gone Wild event.

Check back next month for photos and results, as well as a feature on the shop where many these monster mud machines have their engines tuned. You won't want to miss it.

So, until it gets finished, keep checking back here and on Superior4x4.com
