High water prompts temporary closure of several roads in Box-R WMA

Due to recent rainfall, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has temporarily closed several roads located within the Box-R Wildlife Management Area in Franklin County.

The closure includes all of Sneads Hammock Road, Deep Slough Road, Buzzard Bay Road, West Boundary Road, and the portion of Huckleberry Lane from the Box-R Cottage driveway north to the Jackson River.

The road closure will remain in effect until further notice to ensure public safety and resource conservation. If you have additional questions, contact the FWC’s Northwest Regional Office at 850-265-3676.
